Sam Kerr reveals romantic night with fiancee Kristie Mewis
Australia Superstar forward Sam Kerr celebrated her fiancée Kristie Mewis’ birthday in grand style, with the loved-up couple jetting off to Paris to celebrate while their Matildas teammates played in an Olympic Games qualification match.
American star Mewis, who plays for West Ham, turned 33 on Sunday and flew to the French capital for a quick getaway with Kerr.
Kerr later posted some intimate photos of her and Mewis together, wishing her fiancée a happy birthday.
‘Happy birthday to my love. “No one entertains me more than you,” she wrote on Instagram.

Kerr shared a photo of the couple’s view of the Eiffel Tower, and Mewis later posted a quick video of her posing outside their hotel room in a bathrobe and with a glass of wine.
Meanwhile, the Matildas’ place at the Paris Olympics is all but assured, with the team claiming a 3-0 victory in Tashkent against Uzbekistan.
Kerr, who continues to recover from a devastating knee injury, was missed by the team that failed to capitalize on its opportunities early in the game.
“We didn’t panic or get frustrated about not scoring in the first half,” coach Gustavsson said.
“But we left too many goals on the table. Our conversion rate must have been really bad. We could have scored, we left too many goals out there.
“That has to improve on Wednesday.”
Matildas teammate Mary Fowler added: “Some of that probably had to do with a lack of concentration at times.
‘People get a little frustrated and that all points to being patient. It was good for us to be able to turn it around and score goals in the second half.
“But even for me, looking back at some of those chances in the first half, they’re just millimeters away and it’s either a goal or it’s a better chance.”
Kerr is currently recovering from a serious knee injury that will keep her out for months.
Gustavsson highlighted that scoring three goals, combined with a clean sheet, had given his charges the freedom to accelerate in Melbourne.

“We actually talked about how before this game it was the first half of two,” he said.
“A lot of players have experienced playing the Champions League when it’s the same when you play home and away and it’s a two-match series, and you need to play that a little bit differently.
“So we said, ‘let’s have a very, very focused and mature performance where we don’t give anything away in terms of defence, concentration and discipline, and keep a clean sheet again.’
Australia were due to head straight to Dubai after the match and would then share a flight with their Uzbek opponents to Melbourne.
