The Minister Youth and Sports Barrister Solomon Dalung has declared that the proposed Nigeria Football
Federation elective congress billed for September 30 in Katsina will be an exercise in futility
following the Supreme Court judgement.

He said the judgement will determine the face of Nigeria football administrstion which will be
followed to the letter following a legal interpretation from the Attorney General of the federation
Abubakar Malami.

Speaking to Journalists in Abuja, Dalung warned the football stakeholders jostling for forms to shelve
the idea as the Supreme Court ruling supersedes any other law .

He said he has advised the football house to seek for the interpretation of the Supreme Court ruling
of April, 27 before embarking on any electoral process.

“I advised the NFF to focus on the Super Eagles preparations to enable the team have a good outing in
Russia but they are busy going against my advice by buying and filling election forms for an election
that may not take place. The Government has invested so much on the team to have good performance at
the World Cup, they are busy thinking of how to return to the board for their business as usual. I
know that the forms they are buying and filling is to raise money for the federation and I commend them
for that”. Dalung

Speaking further , the Minister said all efforts now should be geared towards motivating the players to
give their best in Russia.
