Serena begins 6- weeks’ solitude over covid-19 scare

Serena Williams will be ‘spending the next 6 weeks in solitude’ amid the coronavirus crisis as she tells everyone to stay safe: ‘This is serious’

The 23 Grand Slam champion and mother to two-year-old daughter Alexis Olympia took to Instagram on Friday morning with a sublime selfie video of herself getting made up to look very glam, yet the caption alongside it was of a different nature entirely.

‘Spending the next 6 weeks in solitude,’ Serena, 38, wrote. ‘Being a wife. Being a mom. Cooking. Cleaning. Spring cleaning. Face mask. Makeup tutorials.

‘I’ll let you know how it goes…’ she concluded, before adding a wish to ‘stay safe everyone. This is serious.’

Serena’s decision comes as the world faces an unprecedented global health crisis, with practically every single large event, function, performance or other cause for gatherings of large numbers of people cancelled or postponed for the foreseeable future.

Serena: See you in six weeks love you!

It’s all in an effort to stem the spread of the highly contagious coronavirus, which leads to the potentially serious respiratory ailment COVID-19.

Project Runway’s original host Heidi Klum, who now judges America’s Got Talent, herself fell ill this week, although she announced via her own Instagram Story on Friday morning that she doesn’t yet know whether it’s related to the epidemic and she is thus far unable to get tested for it, despite her best efforts with two doctors.
