Serie A: ‘Napoli are champions of Italy, we must give more’

Piotr Zielinski called Napoli’s upcoming match with Udinese ‘fundamental’ after the team’s slow start to the season.

The Partenopei looked electric as they ended a 33-year wait for the Scudetto last season under Luciano Spalletti but have looked far more unconvincing under the coach’s replacement Rudi Garcia, picking up just eight points from their opening five matches.

Pressure has started to mount on the defending champions, not helped by Napoli’s ongoing dispute with star striker Victor Osimhen regarding some mocking TikToks that were posted on their official account.

Speaking to DAZN via TMW ahead of Napoli’s clash with Udinese, Zielinski underlined how Napoli need to step things up, starting with the Friulian side.

“Each of us has to give more, we are champions of Italy and matches aren’t won by themselves. We have already dropped so many points and tonight is fundamental.”

Recent reports in Italy suggested that coach Garcia only has the upcoming four matches to turn things around with Napoli, piling on the pressure for the coming weeks. After facing Udinese, the defending champions will play Lecce, Real Madrid and Fiorentina.
