Sheffield Utd willing to consider Heckingbottom to permanent manager’s job

Sheffield United are willing to give the caretaker manager, Paul Heckingbottom, the chance to land the job full-time.

Heckingbottom will be given the chance to earn the Sheffield United manager’s job on a full-time basis.

The academy under 23 coach has been placed in charge until the end of the season following Chris Wilder’s exit last week.

He was thrown in at the deep end on Sunday at Leicester, arriving on the day of the game to take charge of a team that looked to be shell-shocked following the departure of the much-loved manager.

No decision has been made on the next appointment as the club takes stock of the candidates available for the role.

However, Yorkshire Live reports the board will give Heckingbottom every chance to earn the position on a full-time basis if he wishes.
