Sheyi Ojo to Rohr: I want to play for Eagles
Glasgow Rangers forward, Sheyi Ojo is waiting to be called up by Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr after reiterating his desire to play for Nigeria at the senior level.
The 22-year-old has said he wants to follow in the footsteps of teammate Joe Aribo who has switched his allegiance to Nigeria and played in last month’s friendly against Ukraine. He will be in Singapore for the friendly against Brazil on October 13.
“I’ve made it known that I am willing to switch allegiance to Nigeria. I’ll be glad if I am called up because just like Joe Aribo I also want to play for #Nigeria at senior level,” he said on Twitter.
Only this week, the youngster who is loan at Rangers from Liverpool ruffled feathers when he said the Gers were the better side in the Scottish League.
He made the statement following Rangers 5-0 victory against Ibrox last weekend.
