Sissi: Secret and romantic supporter of Chelsea’s manager Tuchel

Thomas Tuchel has turned Chelsea’s fortunes around since replacing Frank Lampard at Stamford Bridge, with the Blues well-placed to mount a Premier League title challenge this season

The German has turned around the English club’s fortunes and they now look well-set to challenge for the Premier League title this season, having begun the campaign unbeaten.

Tuchel has steadily progressed up the managerial ranks and is now widely regarded as one of the best managers in club football.

His exits from the clubs he has managed have tended to be acrimonious in recent years, with both Dortmund and PSG sacking him amid tensions between the German and club chiefs.

But while it is obviously Tuchel who has decided on his next destination whenever he departs a job, there is one key player who mainly stays behind the scenes.

That key player is his wife Sissi, whom he married in 2009 around the time he began his reign as manager of FSV Mainz.

It would not be a surprise if Sissi’s name is one that Chelsea fans have not heard before though.

That is because, according to The Sun, she is rarely seen together with her husband as he prefers to avoid the limelight.

While she has no impact on football decisions such as tactics and coaching, it is said that she plays a “big part” in his career.

She is reported to be a huge support for her husband and has a “big say” on which jobs he takes acting as a sounding board for him.

As well as helping to choose which he club he manages, Sissi has also helped with the logistics of his different moves.

The Sun state that she reportedly visited Paris to seek a home for their family when he was sacked by Dortmund.
