Sulley Muntari joins Ghana’s champions Hearts of Oak
Ghana Premier League champions Hearts of Oak have signed former Black Stars midfielder Sulley Muntari.
The 37-year-old has joined the Phobians on a one-year contract. Muntari was a free agent, having been without a club since leaving Spanish second-division side Albacete Balompie in 2019.

The midfielder is a UEFA Champions League winner, having helped Internazionale claim the European title in 2010, while on the international front he scored 20 goals in 84 appearances for Ghana.
He was part of the Black Stars teams which appeared at three straight World Cups (2006, 2010 and 2014) and also reached the semifinals of the Africa Cup of Nations in 2008 and 2012.

Muntariโs club career has included stints at Liberty Professionals, Udinese, Portsmouth, Inter, Sunderland, AC Milan, Al Ittihad in Saudi Arabia, Pescara, Deportivo La Coruna and Albacete.
Hearts will hope Muntari can help get their GPL title defence back on track, with the Accra club in fifth position and trailing rivals Asante Kotoko by 10 points after 14 rounds of matches.
