Super Eagles star gets new manager ahead new season

 

Super Eagles and Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze is to face next La Liga season under a new manager.

This follows Thursday’s announcement of former Arsenal Manager Unai Emery as new coach of the La liga side.

The club via its official website announced the decision adding that Emery will be in charge for the next three seasons.

Emery takes over from Javi Calleja who handed Nigeria international Samuel Chukwueze his professional debut in a Europa League group match against Glasgow Rangers in September 2018.

Chukwueze made 71 appearances for the Yellow Submarine under the tutelage of Calleja and was named in the starting lineup on forty-two occasions, during which he scored 10 goals.

Emery it was further confirmed will be unveiled officially on Monday at the Estadio de la Cerámic

The 48-year-old has been dubbed Europa specialists in some quarters winning the competition with Sevilla in 2014, 2015 and 2016, before guiding Arsenal to the final last year.

Emery was sent packing by the Gunners last November after a seven-match winless streak considered the worst run since 1992.

Chukwueze who had dreamt of playing in the Champions league will however make do with the Europa after the Yellow Submarine finished fifth in the just ended season.
