Ten Hag marks FA Cup win over Liverpool with specical outing

Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag treated himself to a celebratory meal at his favorite Italian restaurant on Sunday evening following his side’s dramatic FA Cup win over bitter rivals Liverpool.

United scored seven goals after twice falling behind, with Amad Diallo scoring the winner in the 121st minute to spark jubilant scenes at Old Trafford.

Amid the chaos, Ten Hag displayed a relaxed touch on the touchline while keeping his emotions in check, but he was clearly delighted with victory as he headed to Italian restaurant Piccolino in Cheshire with his agent Kees Vos and other members of his team.

Ten Hag and his colleagues enjoyed a three-hour meal at Piccolino before leaving the restaurant around 11 p.m.

The group appeared in good spirits after an up-and-down day which saw United book their place in the FA Cup semi-finals in one of the most thrilling matches in recent memory.

Ten Hag regularly visited the Italian restaurant during his two years in Manchester, having been photographed dining there after losing his first match in charge of the Red Devils against Brighton in April 2022.

He also went earlier this season, as he opted out of watching Manchester City in the Champions League just days before the Manchester derby in October.

The restaurant is also popular with his team, with Casemiro and Diogo Dalot taking their partners there after a victory against Aston Villa in the final weeks of last season.

Ten Hag hopes victory against Liverpool will give him some breathing space as he fights to keep his job following the arrival of new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Ratcliffe is believed to be weighing up whether to keep the Dutchman at Old Trafford beyond this season following a disappointing campaign for the club.

United currently look set to miss out on Champions League football as they sit sixth in the Premier League table.

They were also kicked out of Europe before Christmas and lost 16 games in all competitions.

But they now have another trip to Wembley to look forward to after taking on Jurgen Klopp’s men.

They will be expected to qualify for the final after securing a quarter-final draw against Championship side Coventry City, with a clash against Manchester City or Chelsea awaiting them if they beat the Sky Blues.
