Tension as Eagles star lands in hospital after scoring in France

Explaining his substitution in the 23rd minute, Lille tweeted that the Nigerian international suffered a suspected injury that saw Loic Remy take his place.

According to reports in the French media, including sports.fr, the Eagles forward complained of chest pain after falling dizzy.

The former Golden Eaglets ace was quickly attended to by the emergency services present at the Stade Louis II, and taken by ambulance to a hospital center to undergo medical examinations.

Osimhen gave Lille the lead with a beautifully drilled finish into the far corner, assisted by Jonathan Ikoné.

At the last count, Osimhen’s goal against the Principality outfit took his goal haul for the season to 12 from 23 games, with nine of the strikes coming in the French Ligue 1.

Loic Remy netted a brace in the 45th and 86th minutes to help Lille progress to the quarterfinal of the League Cup.
