Thiago Silva’s wife learning English during private lessons

Thiago’s Silva’s wife is learning English – in a VIP Stamford Bridge box while her husband plays on the pitch.

The family moved to London last year when the veteran defender signed for Chelsea from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.

But having never played in an English-speaking country, Silva and his wife Isabelle did not have a grasp of the language.

The 101-cap centre-back is picking up the lingo on the training ground around his team-mates.

However, Belle is getting her lessons from one of the Chelsea staff at the stadium.

She took to her Instagram story during Wednesday’s 4-0 thrashing of Malmo to post a video following her man’s assist for Andreas Christensen’s opener.

After saying a message in her native Portuguese, she then said: “For the English. So, very good assist by Thiago Silva because he isn’t just a defencer, defender,” correcting herself after help from son Iago.

Belle added: “He’s the best defender in the world.”

In later stories, she filmed herself in one of the boxes chatting to Blues employee Anisa, who is helping her get to grips with English better.

Anisa asked: “Are you guys going to meet Thiago when he finishes the game outside or are you going to drive back home yourself?”

After initially looking puzzled and consulting Iago in Portuguese, Belle replied slowly: “No, Thiago doesn’t have contact with us so after game we can’t…”

In the next video, Anisa added: “Every time you come to the game, we will have an English lesson.”

Belle repeated: “For you my English followers, each game I have English class – lesson not class.”

Belle had already endeared herself to the Chelsea fans with her incredible Christmas decorations last year before telling hubby Thiago to show Daniel Amartey ‘who’s boss’.

And she could enlist Romelu Lukaku for some help with her upcoming lessons.

The Belgian striker hobbled off injured against Malmo and, as Chelsea’s most multilingual star, may be useful.

Lukaku speaks EIGHT languages fluently – French, Flemish, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese and English.

Mateo Kovacic is next with five while Silva is one of a number on three – and is trying to add English.

The 37-year-old speaks perfect Portuguese, Italian and French – having grown up in Brazil and then spent time with AC Milan and PSG.

None of Chelsea’s English players – including Three Lions stars Mason Mount, Reece James and Ben Chilwell – speak any other languages.
