Tomori’s move to AC Milan ‘inevitable’

Fikayo Tomori has edged closer to a permanent move to AC Milan after their victory against Juventus at the weekend.

Tomori joined Milan on loan from Chelsea in January and has been an outstanding performer for the Rossoneri over the second half of the campaign.

The Telegraph reports that it is now “inevitable” that Milan will exercise their option to buy for an initial £25m, though whether or not they can afford to trigger that option this summer will depend on whether they qualify for the Champions League.

Their win against Juventus makes that all the more likely, with Milan now third, two points ahead of Napoli in fourth and three ahead of Juventus in fifth. Were they to miss out on Champions League football, they would look to extend Tomori’s loan for next season with the guarantee of a permanent switch the following summer.
