Transfer: FC Porto gun for Alhassan Yusuf after Champions League strike

Portuguese giants FC Porto have now put their search light on midfielder Alhassan Yusuf after he scored against them in the UEFA Champions League.

Alhassan put home team Antwerp ahead late in the first half Wednesday night with a well-taken goal, before the top Portuguese club fought back after the break to win 4-1.

Several informal contacts had been made by Porto signifying their interest to sign the 23-year-old midfielder.

It is now expected that the club will soon make a formal bid for the player, whose contract at Antwerp runs till June 2025.

Transfermarkt puts Alhassan’s market value at 4 Million Euros, 2 Millions Euros down from the last update.

Porto will be the second Portuguese club to be interested in signing Alhassan after Sporting Lisbon attempted to get him this past summer.

The tactically-shrewd defensive or central midfielder also got a bid from Hellas Verona, but the Serie A club did not meet the valuation of the player by his Belgian club.
