Transfer Iwobi could walk out on Everton free

Alex Iwobi was Everton best player last season, but he could now walk out on the Premier League club a free agent should he not commit to a new contract before the end of this summer transfer window.

The Nigeria international forward has only a year left on his contract with the Liverpool club.

Everton could either sell him this window to recoup the more than 30 Million Euros they paid Arsenal for him four years ago or get him to sign a new contract.

His Transfermarkt value is 28 Million Euros.

A hamstring injury he suffered at Aston Villa at the weekend has further complicated matters for Everton, who again are struggling in the new season after they barely escaped relegation last term.

Iwobi, 27, himself has said he wishes to move to a club who feature regularly in the UEFA Champions League, but so far there have not been such suitors with the window just a week to close.

He could therefore hold out till January, when he could then sign a pre-contract with another club and then move for free next summer.
