Transfer window: Watford manager Hodgson slams agent of Ismaila Sarr over exit claims

Watford coach, Roy Hodgson, has slammed Ismaila Sarr’s agent regarding a possible summer transfer.

The winger, who is a hot property in the Premier League despite the Hornets’ likely relegation this season, is being linked with a move away.

His agent Thierno Seydi stated that Sarr has been told by Watford officials that he can move clubs in June.

Hodgson said: “I don’t think it’s helpful that agents come out and say those sorts of things at a time when all the people at Watford who pay his wages and are relying upon him, have to be confronted with an agent making those sorts of statements.

“I don’t approve of it but that has nothing to do with Sarr. There’s not much he can do about it.

“This might just be the agent trying to make certain that he gets his money where he can.

“In conversations I have with him he makes it clear to me that he’s fully committed to try and help this club stay in the league and he’s going to do everything he possibly can.

“So things his agent says I hope that that will affect him because it certainly doesn’t affect me.”
