Transfer window: Barcelona explore re-signing Benfica wing-back Grimaldo

Barcelona are watching Alejandro Grimaldo’s situation at Benfica.

According to O Jogo, Benfica will have to make cuts to their salary base and big European clubs will be interested, including his former side Barcelona.

Grimaldo is having his sixth season with the club whom he moved to at 20 in 2016 and has grown into one of the best left-backs in Europe.

The player was formed at La Masia and could give competition to Jordi Alba, who turns 34 next season.

It’s a golden opportunity for Barcelona who needs a player in that position, as with his contract up in 2023 he could be bought for 10-15 million euros in the summer.
