Transfer window: Man Utd’s stance on Gunners’ plan to sign van de Beek

Arsenal’s record signing is rumoured to be nearing the Emirates exit after two years of underwhelming displays while the Gunners hopes of signing a Premier League star

Arsenal ‘s impressive 10-game unbeaten run came to a brutal end after the Gunners were hammered 4-0 by Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday evening.

Mikel Arteta’s side failed to get to grips with the Reds plethora of attacking talent, four different goal-scorers putting Arsenal to the sword.

All six of the signings made by Arteta in the summer featured against Jurgen Klopp’s side at some point, but couldn’t prevent the first defeat since late August.

While the morale around the red half of north London remains high, recent reports have suggested the Arsenal boss could be tempted to dip into his transfer funds when January rolls around to bolster his options further.

The Spaniard is also likely to oversee a number of exits, with one high-profile departure in particular.

With that being said, here is Mirror Sport’s Arsenal transfer round-up for Monday, November 22.

Arsenal’s record-signing failed to feature in any capacity at Anfield, ensuring he has played just five minutes worth of Premier League football in the last four league outings.

After a stellar 2018/19 campaign for Ligue 1 outfit Lille, Pepe was on the radar of a number of top clubs before the Gunners forked out a staggering £72m for his services.

He has fallen spectacularly short of justifying that figure, but Italian outlet Calciomercato report that his poor form has not deterred AC Milan, who would be interested in taking the winger on loan in January.
