Transfer window: Napoli see Origi as possible replacement for Osimhen

Napoli boss, Luciano Spalleti, has identified Liverpool’s Divorck Origi as the right replacement for Victor Osimhen.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Spalleti would like to bring the big Belgium international who is out of contract at Anfield at the end of the season to Italy in the summer, “if the powers above him at Napoli decide to sell Nigerian forward Victor“.

Osimhen has scored crucial goals for title-chasing Napoli this season and has been linked with a move to several top clubs in Europe over the past few months, including Chelsea.

Napoli are thought to be willing to entertain offers in the region of €100m for the former Lille star, and they have penciled down Origi as the ‘perfect substitute’ for the 23-year-old.

However, Spalleti could have both attackers under his watch next season, if Osimhen remains at the club for another season longer.

Napoli paid €70m to sign Osimhen from Lille in 2020 and delivered 21 goals in total, despite the injury and Covid-19 problems.
