Transfer window: Tottenham ready to further boost Conte with cash

Tottenham are ready to further support manager Antonio Conte in the transfer market.

The London Evening Standard says Spurs are ready to back Conte to bring in more quality but the head coach has told the club he is happy with the size of his squad.

Spurs refused to allow Bryan Gil and Japhet Tanganga to go out on loan in the summer because they could not find adequate replacements and, conversely, the club will have to offload the duo before signing players in the new year.

Gil, 21, and Tanganga, 23, have both played just 17 minutes this season and are surplus to requirements, while 20-year-old Pape Matar Sarr, who is yet to feature for Spurs, will be allowed to leave on loan.

Spurs will hope Valencia revive their interest in signing Gil for a third consecutive transfer window, while Tanganga and Sarr have suitors in Italy.

Conte may also face a decision over loaning out summer signing Djed Spence, who is still waiting for his first Spurs start but has been offered encouragement by the Italian in recent weeks.
