Turkish club offload ex-Super Eagles forward Ideye

Turkish Super Lig side Goztepe have terminated the contract of former Super Eagles forward Brown Ideye with immediate effect.

Goztepe, who are currently third from bottom in the log, announced the termination of Ideye’s contract on the club’s website on Monday, December 20.

“As a result of the negotiations with our player Brown Ideye, his contract was mutually terminated.

“We would like to thank Ideye and wish him success in his continuing football life,” the report read in part.

The experienced striker has barely featured for the Turkish club this season, playing a total of 37 minutes in five league appearances.

At the last count, Ideye was an unused sub on December 12, in a 2-1 home win over Gaziantep FK.

The 33-year-old Ideye joined Goztepe last season from Aris Salonika of Greece.

He netted two goals in 30 league appearances.

The former West Bromwich Albion striker, previously played for Dynamo Kiev in Ukraine, Sochaux of France as well as Greek champions Olympiacos.
