U-20 Women’s World Cup: FIFA To Decide Nigeria’s Fate September 12

Nigeria will know if it will get the nod to host the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup when the Federation of International Football (FIFA) meets to announce the host country on September 12.

Sports minister, Sunday Dare gave the hint on his Twitter handle.

“We will work assiduously with relevant stakeholders especially the NFF to secure the FIFA hosting right for the U-20 Female World Cup to be decided on 12th September 2019,” read the tweet.

Four stadiums namely the Stephen Keshi International in Asaba, Onikan, Teslim Balogun both in Lagos, Samuel Ogbemudia in Benin and Godswill Akpabio in Uyo have been inspected were inspected by FIFA this month.

Nigeria’s best performance in this competition remains a second-place finish achieved at the 2010 and 2014 editions in Germany and Canada.

The Falconets have always participated in every edition of the tournament since its inception in 2002.
