U20 World Cup: ‘Flying Eagles will be at their best to survive Brazil and Argentina’

Flying Eagles coach Ladan Bosso has said he was confident his team will be at their best to survive the ‘Group of Death’ which comprises two former winners Brazil and Argentina.

Nigeria have been pitted against five-time champions Brazil, top European team Italy and the Dominican Republic in the first round of next month’s World Cup in Argentina.

They will open their campaign on May 21 against The Dominican Republic in Mendoza.

“Yes, many people have described our group as tough, but I believe that will get us to be at our best right from the onset,” Bosso told scorenigeria

“The World Cup was never going to be easy, but now it also means we cannot afford to be relaxed or complacent, we have to come with everything right from our first match.

“The reward for all our efforts will be qualification to the knockout rounds of the tournament.”

Bosso said he has already begun compiling a full dossier on the Flying Eagles immediate World Cup rivals that will inform his game plan against them.

This week, the Flying Eagles opened training camp in Abuja with the bulk of the squad who qualified the country at the recent U20 AFCON in Egypt.

The Flying Eagles coach disclosed that he expects invited foreign-based pros to join in the new week.
