UCL: After Bayern Munich ‘s exit Villarreal fear no foe, says Emery

Villarreal coach, Unai Emery, has said victory over Bayern Munich means they fear no-one left in the Champions League.

A 1-1 draw in Munich saw Villarreal reach the semifinals 2-1 on aggregate.

Emery said, “To achieve something, you have to do important things and beat the favourites. That [round of 16] game against Juventus gave us a lot of confidence. In the semi-finals, we will try to create circumstances so that we have our chances. Liverpool are a great team and Benfica, too. It will be a great semi-final to enjoy.

“The feeling is unbeatable. We are achieving important things. It was a huge game but the first leg already said a lot about how we were going to respond today. We were perfect in defence.

“When we scored the goal, it came at a very critical moment – because when Bayern score a goal, they have shown in other games that they can then score two or three.”
