UCL: Now we have Lewandowski – not Bayern Munich, says Cruyff on Barcelona’s ‘group of death’

Barcelona director, Jordi Cruyff, has conceded they face a Champions League ‘group of death’ after Thursday’s draw.

Barca will meet Bayern Munich, Inter Milan and Viktoria Pilsen, but Cruyff believes that Barça will be very competitive with the reinforcements that have arrived this summer.

He also pointed out that the Bavarians will not have Robert Lewandowski in their ranks, because he now wears the blue and garnet.

“That’s the positive part, that Lewy is with us. It will be a special game for him. The last three or four games against them have been difficult but we have strengthened and we are a different team. We are ready to go head to head against Bayern,” he said.

Cruyff also highlighted the potential of Inter Milan, who too will be in the wrestle for the top two.

“Italian teams are always difficult and Inter have strengthened well, Lukaku is back and they also have Lautaro.”

The Barça technical secretary didn’t dismiss Viktoria Pilsen either and acknowledged their quality.

“They tend to be physical, with a very high tempo, who play very direct and you have to respect them and win the games against them,” he commented.
