UCL: Okafor on track, Loftus-Cheek uncertain on Milan injury update

Milan returned to Milanello on Thursday following their Champions League loss to Paris Saint-Germain, with some injured players still working on their recoveries.

Stefano Pioli’s side disappointed in the Parc des Princes on Wednesday night as PSG cruised to an entirely comfortable 3-0 win, leaving the Rossoneri with nothing to show for a tiring match in the French capital. They now sit bottom of Group F after three games.

Milan cannot afford to lose their confidence though, as a crucial match at the top of the table against Napoli is quickly approaching. Pioli’s side sit second in the Serie A table, a point behind league leaders Inter.

Gianluca Di Marzio took stock of the injury crisis in the Milan squad, noting how Marco Sportiello, Samuel Chukwueze, Ismael Bennacer and Mattia Caldara will all certainly miss the weekend clash with Napoli.

Noah Okafor’s recovery is progressing well and he could join the squad for the trip to Campania on Sunday. Luka Jovic is undergoing medical tests today after he suffered an injury in the warm-up to the PSG loss.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek is being closely monitored and seems unlikely to be fit in time to face Napoli, reducing Pioli’s midfield options.
