UEFA Youth League: Nigerian Born grabs brace as Salzburg defeats Derby 4-1
Austria side Red Bull Salzburg on Wednesday progressed to the quarterfinals of the UEFA Youth League after thrashing Derby County 4-1 with Nigerian born Nigeria born Chukwubuike Adamu the hero of the match.
Adamu who was born in Kano State in northern Nigeria eighteen years ago scored the second and third goals in the 45th and 70th minutes after Nicolas Seiwald had given the home side the lead in the third minute. Adamu’s goal cancelled Tyree Benjamin Wilson’s equaliser for Derby in the 17th minute.
Luka Sucic added the fourth on the dot of the 90th minute to seal victory for Salzburg and take them into the knockout stage of the competition.
Adamu has so far scored 11 goals in 16 appearances.
