UEL: Chiesa in race against time for Nantes vs Juventus

Juventus star Federico Chiesa is desperate to be fit enough to take part in the second leg of their Europa League Round of 16 clash with FC Nantes.

The 25-year-old Italian winger returned after an almost-12-month absence in November of last year, finally taking to the pitch following his cruciate ligament rupture in January 2022.

Chiesa has begun to feature more consistently for Juventus over the last few weeks but was forced to miss the 2-0 win over Spezia due to a slight muscle strain, suffered during the 1-1 draw with Nantes last week.

As highlighted by Calciomercato.com, Chiesa briefly took part in the training session with his Juventus teammates before breaking away to continue his personalised regime.

The Italian winger is hungry to help his team progress to the next round of the Europa League, something that’s in doubt after the 1-1 draw in Turin last week.

Coach Massimiliano Allegri will make his final decision tomorrow, but it’s likely that Chiesa will join his teammates for the trip to France regardless, possibly coming off the bench in the second half.
