W/Cup: CAR preparing French-born striker Mafouta to wreck Super Eagles

Central African Republic coach has said he was banking on French-born striker Louis Mafouta to do the Super Eagles some damages when both teams clash in a 2022 World Cup qualifier next month.

Mafouta is on red-hot form having scored nine goals and provided three assists in his last eight matches for Swiss side Nuechatel Xamax.

He has also scored four goals in the World Cup qualifiers.

“Mafouta is truly someone I rely on,” CAR coach Raoul Savoy told Swiss newspaper Le Matin.

“I have just called him up for two matches that my team will play against Nigeria on October 7 and 10 in World Cup qualifiers.”

Mafouta, 27, was born in France and has scored six goals in 17 appearances for Central African Republic.
