Watford Goal Of The Month Award:  Success finishes second

Nigeria international, Isaac Success has lost the Watford FC Goal of the Month gong to Andre Gray, whose screamer against Manchester United was adjudged the best for the month of September.

Success who has returned to the Super Eagles for this month’s Afcon double header against Libya finished second following his strike against Spurs in the third round of the Carabao Cup.

Success beat off his challenger from 12 yards to get the opening goal on the night despite Watford ending up on the losing side. Tottenham advanced into the fourth round after winning 4-2 on penalties.

Gray took 41 per cent of the vote, with Success securing 33%.

The results which were announced on the club’s website on Friday saw Troy Deeney and Craig Cathcart get 19% and 8% to finish third and fourth positions respectively.

This season appears to be the Nigerian’s best in the colours of Watford since joiing from Spanish side Granada Fc.on a five-year deal estimated around £12.5 million in 2016,

Success scored once in 19 appearances in the 2016-17 season and, after just one appearance in 2017-18 was loaned to Malaga on 31 January 2018. Injuries also contributed to his loss of form.

He has featured nine times for the Hornets in all competitions this season scoring twice.
