WCQ: Uninspiring Super Eagles fail to fly over Crocodiles

Nigeria’s Super Eagles forced the visiting Lesotho to a 1-1 draw in their 2026 World Cup qualifiers on Thursday at Akpabio stadium in Uyo.

The Crododiles lived up to their pre-match vows when they shocked Nigeria with a 56th minute goal by unmarked Motlomelo Mkhwanazi.

But Semi Ajayi responded forcefully as he levelled up for the depressed Eagles a minute later to restore hope of fighting for the World Cup ticket.

In other group, Egypt walloped Djibouti 6-0 on a day Mo Salah scored four goals for his side. Sudan and Togo also shared points as they ended their match 1-1.
