Despite the disappointment that trailed Nigeria’s loss to Croatia in the first match of Group D in the ongoing 2018 World Cup in Russia, the man in charge of the team Gernot Rohr is confident that his team can still qualify to the second round of the match.

According to him “the loss could have been avoided if the players had defended properly on set pièces. It should have been a point. Croatia didn’t score in the open game which means that it was not easy for them either. We can still qualify”, Rohr disclosed to Sportinglife.ng.

He is also sounding serious warning to his players that it would be a do or die affair against Iceland. “We are going to work more in our training sessions before our game against Iceland. we have to focus on Iceland”.

Rohr also happilly annouced that his players came out of the Croatia match without any serious injury.

“No serious injury to any of my players after the match although we got a knock but we are not knocked out”.

The team trained at Essentuki at 6.15pm local time yesterday which was 4.15pm Nigerian time.
