In an exclusive chat, Wednesday, the mercurial midfield maestro said that the manner in which his team mates approached the game after going down to an early goal showed that they were a side with a mission to deliver the goods.

“Sincerely speaking, our victory over A.S Pelican was a very difficult one but we thank God for the determination and great character displayed by my team mates on the pitch. Really, going down as early as the fifth minute was not what we bargained for but we took the game to them and God answered our prayers with a stunning come back,” stated the highly respected midfielder.

On the next round of the competition which pitches losers of the CAF Champions league first round and winners of CAF Confederation cup first round, Madu said, “We want to do more than we did last season so getting to the group stage remains a target from where we hope to surpass our performance last term which includes getting the trophy by God’s grace. It is going to be one game at a time. Let us see the playoffs draw first. I believe we are going to scale through this year.”

On his recovery from the injury that have kept him out of action for some time now, he said, “Chiamaka Madu has been eager to come back and I think my recovery has been wonderful. I have started some strenuous,
rigorous training sessions and very soon, before our next game, I will be available for the coaches’ selection.”
