RB Leipzig have enjoyed winding up Chelsea fans online over Timo Werner.

The 23-year-old German striker scored twice for his side in their 3-3 draw away at Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga.

The brace led to Chelsea fans urging manager Frank Lampard to move for Werner in January.

One Blues fan posted: “Hope you’re ready for our bid”, to which the club replied: “For your bid farewell to the #Champions League?”

They also posted a hilarious response to a comment that “Chelsea are amongst favourites” to sign Werner with a giant X and the word “doubt”.

And the German club went on to reaffirm that Werner is “Our player”.
