Why Ronaldo will never drink alcohol or smoke

A hidden secret behind Cristiano Ronaldo’s super-natural prowess has been sensationally revealed.

The Juventus star is known for his incredible attitude to football both on and off the pitch and is famed for his phenomenal physique.

The Portuguese ace is said to spend an unfathomable amount of money every year on personal trainers.

His training regiment is strict, and he eats a specially-formatted diet to keep himself in tip-top shape.

It’s no accident that he’s managed to stave off injuries as well as he has, having only missed a handful of games throughout his career.

One facet of his diet is that he doesn’t drink alcohol, and has always stayed clear of smoking.

Heartbreakingly, the reason for his decision to stay away from alcohol was the tragic death of his father.

Dinis Aveiro, Ronaldo’s father, suffered from alcoholism and died at the age of 52.

A former soldier, Aveiro served in wars in Mozambique and Angola, and Ronaldo revealed he never properly spoke to him.

Ronaldo didn’t hide his emotion when talking to Piers Morgan about the fact his father never saw the player he became.

He said: “To be the number one and he don’t see nothing, and he don’t see to receive awards, to see what I became,” when asked what made him sad about remembering his father.

Ronaldo was playing for Manchester United at the time of his father’s death and had offered to pay to get him help for his addiction.

Speaking in 2007, Ronaldo’s mother explained the impact the tragedy had on the young forward.

Dolores Aveiro described how the now-Juventus star paid for his older brother, Hugo, to receive treatment for drug addiction.

She said: “Cristiano has seen what drink and drugs can do to people close to him and it’s part of the reason why he’s become who he is.

“What happened to our family explains why Cristiano doesn’t have vices.

“He doesn’t smoke and doesn’t drink. His addiction is football.”

Ronaldo is said to eat six small meals a day in order to keep himself nourished, and plans his meals around training.

The 36-year-old seems to be defying Father Time, having scored 30 goals in 34 games already this season despite a spell on the sidelines after he tested positive for Covid-19.
