Wright brace lifts Coventry into Championship play-offs

Haji Wright inspired Coventry’s fightback to beat struggling Millwall 2-1 as the Sky Blues climbed into the Championship play-off places on Sunday.

Mark Robins’ side trailed to Romain Esse’s deflected 12th minute opener for Millwall.

But Coventry staged a stirring recovery after the interval thanks to United States striker Wright.

The 25-year-old netted with a 67th minute penalty after being brought down by Japhet Tanganga.

Wright bagged Coventry’s winner three minutes later, capping a flowing counter-attack with a low strike that crept past a weak attempted save from Millwall keeper Matija Sarkic.
