2018 Arsenal Player of The Season: Iwobi dropped

Nigeria international Alex Iwobi has not been included on the list of players for the 2018 Arsenal’s Player of the Season award, according to the club’s website.

The Gunners who were forced to a 1-1 draw by Atletico Madrid in Thursday’s Europa League semi final fixture have called on their fans to vote for their favourite player. Iwobi was missing in action

This season, Iwobi has scored two goals and provided seven assists from 35 appearances in all competitions.

His contributions were however not deemed good enough for nomination.  His inconsistency this term has also drawn the ire of fans.

Germany international, Mesut ozil who won it last year will battle the trio of Alexandre Lacazette, Nacho Monreal and Aaron Ramsey for the award.

Lacazette who scored the Gunners goal appears the leading choice after finding the net 15 times in his debut season.
