2020 Olympics: World Archery Federation to train Nigerian coaches in May

World Archery Federation would storm Nigeria in May to conduct a week long training for coaches and some athletes in preparations 2020 Olympics.

The President of Archery Federation of Nigeria Muhammed Abdullahi who is also the Deputy Secretary General of the Nigeria Olympic Federation (NOC) confirmed this to SportingLife.ng in Abuja on Monday while revealing the Federation’s programs for the year 2019.

“The World Archery Federation has concluded plans to be in Nigeria on May to come and train our coaches more on the technical aspects of the game.

“We have mapped out strategies to sharpen the skills of our athletes. Since most of them come from the Police, Military, Civil Defense Corps they were exposed to the needed equipment to train.

“Some of them won medals at the last African tournament held in Cote D’ Ivoire
July last year. So if we get the required assistants from the Police, Military and paramilitary on the training of these athletes we would have solved the problems facing Archery like any other sports which is funding.

“With the coming of Instructors from World Archery Federation in May to impact more technical knowledge on our coaches, I am hopeful we can do well in Africa and the 2020 Olympics but we need to work very hard”, Abdullahi disclosed to SportingLife.ng in Abuja.
