2022 FIFA World Cup: Eagles group foes emerge January 7

Nigeria’s Super Eagles will find out their group opponents for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers on Tuesday, January 7, 2020.

According to CAF sources, the draw ceremony will hold at the headquarters Confederation of African Football (CAF) in Cairo, Egypt.

Using the latest rankings, countries ranked from 1-26 and 14 first-round winners will be paired into 10 groups of four teams to play home-and-away round-robin games.

The 10 countries will progress to the third round where they will play on a home-and-away basis to produce the five that will fly the continent’s flag at the World Cup.

On the other hand, the first round of games for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers will be played between March 23 and 31, 2020 while match-day two holds from June 1 to 9.

Match-day three games will hold from March 22 to 30 in 2021, while match-day four are yet to get dates

Dates for match-day five games are scheduled to hold from August 30 to September 7, 2021, with match-day six slated for October 4 to 12.
