Kano Pillars coach Ibrahim Musa has attributed his side’s 2-1 loss to Kwara United in the matchday 14 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) on Sunday to defensive errors.

Rave of the moment Junior Lokosa gave the Sai Masu Gida the lead in the 24th minute when he scored the opener to take his season’s goals tally to 12.

The Harmony Boys drew level in the 64th minute through substitute Sunday Okechukwu’s header before Lukman Binuyo secured the full points for the host with a powerful shot in the 70th minute.

Musa told Sportinglife.ng that his team is affected by the absence of its regular players, with some injured and the rest out of the country on national assignment.

The team’s defender Emmanuel Anyawu is on the treatment table due to a muscle tear he sustained in training while the likes of Jemilu Mohammed, Alhassan Ibrahim and Nasifi Yahyah are part of the Flying Eagles squad that traveled to Egypt for international friendly games against the Junior Pharaohs.

“We had a nice game against Kwara United. In fact, we ought to have won the match in the first half because we had so many scoring chances. We lost the match due to defensive errors and our defenders allowed Kwara United to get the victory. The team is built around five central defenders but Eze has left the team and Anyawu is injured.

“In the midfield too, Jemilu Mohammed and Al Hahssan Ibrahim traveled with Flying Eagles to Egypt. Although, the players on ground tried their best but it would have been a different thing entirely if those players were around. We are trying to adjust our team ahead of our next game against FC Ifeanyi Ubah at home and hope for a win in the game,” Musa told Sportinglife.ng.
