World Cup hopeful, Henry Onyekuru has thanked Everton and their medical team after returning to Anderlecht training this week.

The winger was signed by the Blues last summer from KAS Eupen, but was instantly loaned out to the Belgian giants for the whole of the 2017/18 season.

And the Nigerian international quickly found his feet at his temporary club, bagging 10 goals in 28 appearances for Anderlecht including some impressive displays in their Champions League campaign.

However, his time in Belgium looked to have been cut short in December when Onyekuru suffered a serious knee injury, forcing him to return to USM Finch Farm for treatment.

I want to say thank you to everyone that made my recovery possible. The medical team, staff and doctors for their rehab and facilities. I also want to thank and the amazing supporters for their support and their faith in me during this journey🙏🏾🙏🏾

It was initially thought the problem could keep the 20-year-old out for the remainder of this term, but it was later revealed the Everton man could still return to Anderlecht before the end of the campaign.

That ambition was realised this week as Onyekuru returned to training with the Belgian side – and he has subsequently taken to social media to thank everyone who has helped him in his recovery
