Four-goal hero, Ighalo hails teammates for Yata win

On the day, the Super Eagles’ striker captained Changchun in an away tie to Guizhou Zchizeng, Ighalo accounted for a brace in either half to the delight of the club’s traveling supporters.

“I am happy, all thanks to God for the win today,”Ighalo told SportingLife.ng after his remarkable feat.

The player’s goal rush started with a well-taken penalty in the 24th minute and grabbed the second in the 38th minute. His second brace came towards the end of the second stanza in the 80th minute and 86th minute.

“It was a good performance from the team and by the grace of God, l am showing good form ahead of the World Cup, he said.

For the feat, Ighalo was handed the match ball which was well autographed by his teammates. No doubt his performance would be a thing of joy for Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr who is banking on the player for the goals in Russia.
