Enyimba Chief coach , Usman Abdallah has assured that goalkeeper, Ikechukwu Ezenwa  would be back on his feet very soon.

“He only twisted his ankle and I feel after a week of rest he should start light training or so. He was replaced for precautionary motive.

” He is Super Eagles’ goalkeeper and our hope for the World Cup. We are happy to have up to three world class goalkeepers at Enyimba and they are there to help one another at a time like this.”

Ezenwa twisted his ankle after landing awkwardly to make a safe in a rescheduled NPFL Matchday 16 tie against Kwara United at the Kwara Sports Complex, Ilorin on Wednesday.

He was replaced by Fatma Dauda in the 67th minute in the highly soaked encounter.

Ezenwa may miss next weekend’s CAF Confederation Cup playoffs return leg against Bidvest Wits in Calabar.

“We had issues with injuries against Kwara United and it wasn’t with Ezenwa alone. Stephen Chukwude and Mustapha Ibrahim were earlier substituted by Chinonso Okonkwo and Freedom Omofomma,” Abdallah told SportingLife.ng.

Enyimba went ahead to play a 1-1 draw with Ikechukwu Ibenegbu scoring for the People’s Elephant from the penalty spot before Stephen Alfred equalised for the hosts in the second half.
