Joshua is scared of Wilder – Amir Khan

British boxer, Amir Khan has claimed ANTHONY JOSHUA is “scared” of facing Deontay Wilder.

Both Wilder and Joshua camps were in talks over the summer regarding a huge undisputed bout, but negotiations came to an impasse.

While Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, claimed that Wilder’s team did not show proof of funds for the offers they made, the opposite camp alleged that AJ dodged the fight.

Both men behold fearsome records – Joshua (22-0, 21 KOs), Wilder (40-0-1, 39 KOs) – and have both stopped all-but one of the men they have ever faced.

“One thing about fighters… The fight would have happened if [Joshua] wasn’t scared of him,” said Khan.

After negotiations crumbled, Wilder quickly struck a deal with lineal champion Tyson Fury, whom he fought last weekend in Los Angeles with the fight ending in a draw.

There was outrage among boxing pundits, fans and former world champions, who felt Fury outpointed Wilder, despite suffering two knockdowns.

The possibility of a rematch is in the pipeline.

“It’s hard to say sometimes – maybe [Joshua] was getting paid more money to fight someone easy,” Khan added.

“And he thought: ‘Why should I take that risk?’ Because it is a risk, at the end of the day.”
