Golden Eaglets of Nigeria midfielder Akinkunmi Amoo has won the Man of The Match Award following their 5-4 win against hosts Tanzania in Sunday’s opening match of the 2019 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
Amoo who scored a goal and provided two assists during the match was recognised for his display in the thrilling encounter.
Amoo who plays for Sidos FC had a hand in Nigeria’s opening goal scored by Olatomi Olaniyan and the second scored by Wisdom Ubani.
He added the third in the 37th minute after dribbling past Tanzania keeper, Abdallah Yahya before firing into an empty net.
After getting on the scorer sheet, he was replaced by Divine Nwachukwu in stoppage time.
Nigeria will take on Angola in their next game on Wednesday at the National Stadium, Dar es Salaam.
A win would seen Nigeria book a place in the semi-finals and the FIFA U -17 Cup to be staged in Brazil later in the year.

The Angolans beat Uganda 1-0 also on Sunday to share top position with Nigeria in the group.
