Juventus consider signing Hazard as Ronaldo replacement

Juventus are set to complete the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo to Manchester United in the coming hours, with the Bianconeri hoping to replace him with Real Madrid forward Eden Hazard.

The Belgian winger is at the top of Juventus’ wish list and there is an understanding from Hazard that, despite starting the first two games of the season, his game time could be affected by the imminent arrival of Kylian Mbappe at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

Hazard would like to stay at Real Madrid, but he also wants to play regular football and feel important, which will not be a guarantee with Mbappe at the club.

Having joined Real Madrid from Chelsea for 100 million euros in the summer of 2019, Hazard’s time in the Spanish capital has been plagued by injuries.

In fact, the 30-year-old has managed to play just 45 games across two seasons, in which he has scored five goals and provided nine assists.

Juventus are looking to sign Hazard on a deal that will not hamstring them financially whilst also having enough left over to bring Miralem Pjanic back to the club from Barcelona.

The ideal situation for Juventus would be to sign Hazard on loan, although he will have the final say on his future.

It looks increasingly likely that Alvaro Odriozola will not be the last player to leave Real Madrid this summer.
