Abd’Allah praises Enyimba players after Enugu Rangers rout

Enyimba head coach, has lauded the performance of his players in their 3-1 home win over Enugu Rangers in a Nigeria Professional Football League tie in Aba on Sunday.
Two goals from Ifeanyi Anaemena and the other from Jean Marie Guera ensured that the People’s Elephant secured their first win over the Flying Antelopes since 2017 with Godwin Aguda’s wonder goal serving as
consolation for the visitors.
Speaking to the media at the end of the final whistle, Abd’Allah disclosed that they had to work harder ahead of the Oriental derby because of the history involved in the game and the fact that they are eager to create a record of theirs in terms of unbeaten games this season.
“It was a good performance from the team. We have already worked on so many things before this game,” Abd’Allah told the media.
“We know Rangers very well and we are aware it will be a tough game irrespective of our position on the league table. The game has a lot of history because it is an Oriental derby. With the fact that we have a record that we are still breaking and keeping up and they said they had come to stop us from achieving it but we keep on going.
“For them I think the honeymoon is over for Rangers but for Enyimba we are even yet to start our own honeymoon. It is the way the team is set up. At times we may start the game slowly but we are blending very well and whatever change we are making the players are still giving their best. I am happy to see the team progressing. I think if we keep up like that, we are going to end up the season with a good result.”
