Adama Traore: Liverpool are the best in Europe

Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Adama Traore has declared Liverpool the best team on the continent after his side lost 2-1 to the runaway Premier League leaders last night.

Traore and his team-mates took the Reds all the way for a second time in a month, requiring Jurgen Klopp’s European champions to show just how they have established a seemingly unassailable 16-point lead at the top of the League.

Jordan Henderson opened the scoring after just eight minutes for the Anfield side but Raulu Jimenez hit back six minutes after half-time as Nuno Espirito Santo’s Wolves stifled the visitors at Molineux.

But Liverpool edged a tight contest when Roberto Firmino scored on the 84th minute to sew up an eighth-consecutive win for the Reds.

Adama came in for plenty of praise from Reds boss Klopp after the game, with the Spaniard putting in another solid performance.

And he was equally as impressed with Liverpool and how they have conducted themselves over the past year.

“We don’t forget they are a great team, an amazing team and one of the best – or the best in Europe,” he told BT Sport post-match.

“Congratulations to them, how they are going in the league but we fight. We will fight to the end.”
