Liverpool boss Klopp gives latest update on Mane injury

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is unsure on the severity of the injury that forward Sadio Mane suffered during Liverpool’s Premier League clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers last night.

The Reds defeated Wolves 2-1 at the Molineux Stadium, which gives Liverpool a 16-point lead at the top of the Premier League table with a game in hand.

However, Mane was forced off the pitch in the first-half due to a hamstring injury, which did not look season-ending, but it was enough for the the Senegal international to come off the pitch.

However, Klopp has stated that he does not know the results of Mane’s injury as of yet.

“We don’t know exactly [what the injury is], it’s the muscle. He felt something in the hamstring,” said Klopp, as quoted by LiverpoolFC.com.

“We don’t know yet, obviously, we have to wait. We will see.”

Hopefully this is not too serious of an injury. Mane did the right thing asking to come off as soon as he felt something.

The fact he could walk off the pitch with relative ease suggests that this injury is nothing too serious. However, if it were to be, Mane would be a huge loss for the Reds. He is arguably the most important man in Liverpool’s attack.
