AFCON 2021: Super Eagles star issues big statement ahead official debut for Nigeria

Super Eagles and Glasgow Rangers star Joe Aribo is set for his debut game for the three-time African champions against Benin in a 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Wednesday, November 13, in Uyo.

The London-born midfielder has featured in two friendly games for the Super Eagles against Ukraine’s Yellow-Blue and Brazil’s Selecao, but remains eligible to play for England, his country of birth.

”It is always good to be part of the international squad, I think it is like an honour to represent my country so I’m just happy to be out there and I can’t wait to go out there to play,” Aribo was quoted as saying to Rangers TV on Sunday.

The Nigerian international, who is not used to travelling, admitted he will do a lot in the next two weeks following his invitation to the Super Eagles squad.
